And what about the belief (to which I subscribe) that 'C students rule the world'? They're busy taking everything in, enjoying the high of learning without the worry of succeeding on a test. So they get C's, which translates to A's in life's continuum. I love my students who are so mentally busy following a thread they forget to focus on the test checklist.

Another question: How do Australian standards compare to the Common Core?
* They demonstrate independence.
• They build strong content knowledge.
• They respond to the varying demands of audience, task, purpose, and discipline.
• They comprehend as well as critique.
• They value evidence.
• They use technology and digital media strategically and capably.
• They come to understand other perspectives and cultures.

Just curious.

I've attended many many "meetings". The one that stands out was full of vehemence, rhetoric, opinions and went for over two hours. It came close at times to fisticuffs. What was on the agenda? We needed to decide school policy on what colour and how wide margins were to be in student exercise books. Sturm und drang!

Workshops however, were a chance to learn. (Especially workshops with candy!)
